Kevin Seawright is an accomplished leader and finances professional who advanced his career with smart strategies that landed him a vice president’s role at Newark Community Economic Development Corporation. Throughout his career, Kevin has focused his efforts towards bettering the East Coast society with his financial skills.
He has extensive experience in managing federal funds. According to Crunchbase, while working for Baltimore’s Commission that deals with the needs of aging and retiring citizens, Kevin Seawright developed and implemented an accounting system that saved the organization more than 100,000 dollars.
He later joined Housing Authority of Baltimore to serve as a payroll director, and Homeless Services in the Department of Housing and Community Development to work as a finance director.
Afterward, he served at the Department of Recreation and Parks as a chief facilities officer and financial officer. Kevin earned an appointment as the assisting chief operating officer of the education center in Baltimore City for his remarkable work in his previous tenure.
Kevin Seawright joined the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation in 2015 and has proven himself useful towards progressing their mission to grow businesses and real estate in the region.
In partnership with the Newark Department of Economic & Housing Development, the organization helps the local community set up revenue generating activities and grow their business to attain a better standard of life. Kevin uses his expertise in finance to manage the firm’s processions in real estate, movie theaters, business mentorship for small companies and taxation transactions at the state level.
Kevin received his master’s Almeda degree in business administration and attended Notre Dame Mendoza School of business to pursue a course in business leadership. He is a council member of the board of Babe Ruth Museum where he serves as a financial adviser.
He is a member of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, American Society for Public Administration, and National Association of Black Accountants.
He is actively involved in his neighborhood’s community and coaches a local youth sports group. Kevin has received recognitions and honors from multiple platforms, among them the 2010 nomination from Bridges to the Future, which cited him as a recipient of the Met Life award.
